About PSO-HNS Bicol Chapter
Bicolano ENT — "Red hot like the chili pepper. Soft like the clouds atop Mayon. Caring like Mother Peñafrancia. A survivor like the Cagsawa. A gentle giant like the Butanding."
In 2002, Dr. Abraham L. Gonzales proposed forming a separate PSO-HNS chapter for Bicolano ENTs to address logistical challenges and strengthen regional camaraderie. With overwhelming support, a formal request was submitted to PSO-HNS national president Dr. Edgardo Rodriguez, who endorsed the proposal. The executive committee approved the creation of the PSO-HNS Bicol Chapter during the 47th PSO-HNS Annual Convention on November 30, 2002.
Starting with seven founding members, the chapter has since grown to 21 and has actively engaged in medical missions, advocacy programs, training, and community-building events. Over the years, it has strengthened professional ties among Bicolano ENTs, evolving into a dynamic and integral part of the PSO-HNS.
A chapter would not be complete without a logo to represent it, hence the seven founding members created a symbol that would embody the Bicol Region, the PSO-HNS, and the PSO-HNS Bicol Chapter
